《生命的必需》
19 「不要為自己積攢財寶在地上;地上有蟲子咬,能銹壞,也有賊挖窟窿來偷。 20 只要積攢財寶在天上;天上沒有蟲子咬,不能銹壞,也沒有賊挖窟窿來偷。 21 因為你的財寶在哪裏,你的心也在那裏。」22「眼睛就是身上的燈。你的眼睛若瞭亮,全身就光明; 23 你的眼睛若昏花,全身就黑暗。你裏頭的光若黑暗了,那黑暗是何等大呢!」24 「一個人不能事奉兩個主;不是惡這個、愛那個,就是重這個、輕那個。你們不能又事奉神,又事奉瑪門 。」
25 「所以我告訴你們,不要為生命憂慮吃甚麼,喝甚麼;為身體憂慮穿甚麼。生命不勝於飲食嗎?身體不勝於衣裳嗎? 26 你們看那天上的飛鳥,也不種,也不收,也不積蓄在倉裏,你們的天父尚且養活牠。你們不比飛鳥貴重得多嗎? 27 你們哪一個能用思慮使壽數多加一刻呢 ? 28 何必為衣裳憂慮呢?你想野地裏的百合花怎麼長起來;它也不勞苦,也不紡線。 29 然而我告訴你們,就是所羅門極榮華的時候,他所穿戴的,還不如這花一朵呢! 30 你們這小信的人哪!野地裏的草今天還在,明天就丟在爐裏,神還給它這樣的妝飾,何況你們呢! 31 所以,不要憂慮說,吃甚麼?喝甚麼?穿甚麼? 32 這都是外邦人所求的。你們需用的這一切東西,你們的天父是知道的。 33 你們要先求他的國和他的義,這些東西都要加給你們了。 34 所以,不要為明天憂慮,因為明天自有明天的憂慮;一天的難處一天當就夠了。」 (馬太福音六19-34)
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:19-34)

在《馬太福音六19-34》,耶穌把焦點放在我們每天最真實的掙扎 ── 需要與憂慮。祂並沒有否認生活的現實,也沒有責備人有需要,而是溫柔地指出:我們的憂慮,往往暴露了心所依靠的對象。若把安全感放在財富與掌控上,心自然被焦慮牽引;若把生命交託給天父,心就能得著安息。
耶穌以「財寶、眼睛、兩個主」三個圖像,幫助門徒辨認內心真正的主人。財寶在哪裡,心就在哪裡;眼睛若昏花,整個人就活在黑暗中;人不能同時事奉神和瑪門。這不是道德要求,而是屬靈事實 ── 心不可能同時完全依靠兩個不同的源頭。
因此,耶穌談到憂慮時,並非要人壓抑情緒,而是邀請人重新定位生命的優先次序:「你們要先求祂的國和祂的義。」這不是忽略現實,而是相信天父知道我們的需要,並且樂意供應。當神的國成為首要,日常所需就不再成為壓垮生命的重擔。
【釋經亮點】
在耶穌的教導中,「瑪門」不單指金錢本身,而是人對物質的依附、倚靠與掌控慾。這個詞源自亞蘭文 mammon,在猶太人的理解中,並非單指「財富」,更是帶有「人所信賴、所依靠之物」的意思。換言之,瑪門是那個取代神、成為人安全感來源的對象。*
因此,耶穌說「不能事奉兩個主」,不是在討論金錢的數量,而是在指出一個屬靈現實:人不可能同時把生命的主權交給神,又交給財富。一旦物質成為我們的依靠,它就不再只是工具,而成了主人,塑造我們的選擇、情感與價值判斷。
耶穌並不是反對擁有資源,而是警告人不要被資源擁有。問題從來不在於你有多少,而在於 ── 究竟是你在使用金錢,還是金錢在主導你的人生。
* 在後來的基督教文學與藝術創作中,「瑪門」有時會被進一步人格化。例如被描繪為貪婪之魔、財富之神,甚至是地獄中的一位角色。這類描寫並不是在宣稱瑪門真的存在為一位神明,而是一種象徵性的表達,用來具體呈現「貪婪如何像偶像一樣轄制人心」。這些形象屬於文學與神學反思的產物,並非聖經或基督教正典中的教導,其目的在於警醒人:當財富被人敬拜,它就會像一位主宰般支配人的生命。
反思:你最近最常憂慮的是什麼?這反映了你最看重的東西嗎?在實際生活中,「先求神的國」對你意味著什麼?你是否願意把明天的重擔交託給天父,只忠心面對今天?
禱告:供應一切的天父,祢知道我一切的需要,也明白我心中的憂慮。求祢幫助我不被財富與不安牽引,而是學習先求祢的國與祢的義。教我把生命的主權交在祢手中,相信祢必按時供應,使我在每日的生活中經歷祢的看顧與平安。以上禱告,奉主耶穌的名求,阿們。
